Judy Mowatt a talented Jamaican singer born 1952 is a former harmonizer for Bob Marley. Judy Mowatt first came to prominence when she joined the group “The Gaylettes in 1967 for a short period. However the group had a short life and she went solo after. During these days Marcia Griffiths was a well established artist and needed some harmonizers. Judy Mowatt and Rita Marley were the harmonizers which lead the trio to work with Bob Marley as the same. In 1978 Judy Mowatt and Freddie McGregor to produced the album "Black Woman." The album is a landmark as Judy became the first female reggae artist to produce or co-produce her own album. In 1982 Judy was at it again with the album "Only A Woman" album. She is also the first female to be nominated for a reggae Grammy award.
