The coconut is known as the “Tree of Heaven” because almost all it parts are useful to mankind. In Jamaica and other Caribbean islands the water from the young coconut is very refreshing. The water from the Jamaican coconut is now used as a sports drink.
The matured Jamaican coconuts are generally used for cooking delicious dishes or for its oil. The  Jamaican coconut is truly  versatile, it has a distinct flavor and is used in a variety of pastries all over the world. The coconut water is low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Vitamin C, Riboflavin and Calcium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Magnesium, Potassium and Manganese.
The Jamaican coconut thrives in tropical climates which makes Jamaica a fantastic habitat. The health benefit of coconut oil is countless with the presents of lauric acid, capric acid, caprylic acid and other properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal and antibacterial.
Coconut oil is also used by athletes and body builders who are dieting. Reasons have been that the fatty content of coconut oil is easier converted into energy while the oil contains less cholesterol than others. It also boasts endurance resulting in enhancing the athlete’s performance.
